Species
The article describes him as being a kitsune in Japan, and a fox elsewhere. That's pretty stupid. It would be like saying Rover is un chat in France, but he's a cat elsewhere.
My point is, a kitsune IS a fox. There's no other way to say fox! Tanuki is different, because the actual SPECIES is different (raccoon dog vs. raccoon).

- The word "kitsune" is the word for fox. There is also a mythological aspect to kitsune, but that doesn't make it a different species.-Vulpes 21:40, 4 December 2010 (EST)
