Mario Kart 8 is a racing game for the Wii U released in 2014. An enchanced port known as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released in 2017 for the Nintendo Switch. It is the eighth mainline installment in the Mario Kart series, a series of racing games featuring Mario characters.

Mario Kart 8 including a new racing mechanic known as mariowiki:anti-gravity, which allows players to drive around surfaces upside down. Various returning features include 12-racing fields, bikes, gliding, underwater driving, and kart customization.

Mario Kart 8 and its enhanced port Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are among the best-selling games for the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch respectively, with Mario Kart 8 selling around 8 million copies as of September 30, 2016 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe selling 37.08 million copies as of June 30, 2021.
