Candy is the product that is sold throughout October in preparation for Halloween. It is a boiled sweet wrapped in a red, yellow, green or blue-striped wrapper. On Halloween night, from 6 PM until 1 AM the next morning, in Animal Crossing villagers dressed as Jack, the Czar of Halloween, will chase the player in order to receive Candy. If the player refused to concede Candy, their clothes or inventory items would be transformed. Giving Candy to Jack himself would let the player be in reception of a piece of the Spooky Furniture set.On Festivale, Pave will also ask for 3 of a certain colour wrapper of candy, which will reward the player with Pave furniture

Candy, along with its corresponding event, furniture set, and holiday character were absent from Animal Crossing: Wild World. However, they all make their return in Animal Crossing: City Folk. However, Candy can be given to the player by visiting the houses of the villagers who stayed in on Halloween night by wearing a costume.(Example: Bunny hat and fluffy shirt) Also, during the new event, Festivale, Candy can be won from villagers in little challenges except Hide-and-Seek, and supplied to the host of the festival - Pavé the peacock. They also can be found on Bunny Day, in some eggs. So if you have done these events, be sure to save that candy to give to Jack!

During October, Tom Nook sells up to five pieces of candy per day, and they cost 100 Bells each. They take the place of flower bags in the shop from October 16 to October 30, while flower bags take the place of saplings, meaning no saplings are sold while candy is being sold.
