While there are no known codes specific to {{DnM}}, as neither the GameShark nor the Action Replay saw Japanese release, it is possible to create custom codes for the title using these devices.

Additionally, such a cheating device can be used to circumvent the physical barrier, or region lock, that prevents one from playing ''Doubutsu no Mori'' on a non-Japanese console. There is a way to play a Japanese N64 cartridge such as Doubutsu no Mori in a North American Nintendo 64 console without having to do any Firmware, Software, and/or internal tweaks. All that is required to fix this is getting rid of two tabs of plastic beneath the area of where cartridges are loaded that keep Japanese game cartridges out of the system.
