'''Lions''' are a species of [[villager]] in the {{SER}}. They are one of three types of [[cat|large cat]] that appear in the franchise. They have small ears set high on their heads, broad rectangular noses, and also possess tufts of fur at the end of their tails, similar to the [[elephant]]s, [[rhinoceros]]s, and [[bovine]]s. All lion villagers are male, making them the only species currently composed of one gender if cows and bulls are considered one species. All of them have manes.

There are nine lion villagers so far, of which four are [[jock]], two are [[cranky]], two are [[smug]], and one is [[lazy]]. One of the smug lions, [[Leopold]], previously had the jock personality.

[[Aziz]] and [[Jūbei]] are the only lions who have not reappeared since {{DnMe+}}. [[Mott]] is also absent from {{PC}}.

*Of the lions available in {{NL|short}} and {{NH|short}}, all but [[Mott]] have the [[star sign]] Leo, which is represented by a lion.
*No lion villagers have the "catch bugs", "collect furniture", "collect shells", "dig up fossils", "garden", and "shop for clothes" [[hobbies]] as their starting hobbies in {{WW|short}}.
