Paint enables the player to change the color of the roof on their house. Paint can be purchased from all of Nook's upgraded shops. Prices vary by color. Grey is very cheap, while purple is more expensive. When a mortgage is payed off, Tom Nook will ask the player what color to put on the plans for the next house upgrade. In Animal Crossing: City Folk, paint can be purchased from Nook 'n' Go. In Animal Crossing all paint colors cost 800 Bells. Also, in Animal Crossing, a villager may randomly paint a player's house.
