:Posting on the forum is a more social environment, and as such, involves a certain level of accountability. Collecting an email address allows us to increase the barrier of registration to prevent spam accounts and allow us to keep the site family friendly. The wiki is more of a collaborative environment than a social one, is a lot easier to monitor, and has more staff members. A while back it was decided that we would not require emails on the wiki even though it could lead to an increase in spam, in order to allow younger users like yourself to register under the above terms. If you truly want to create an account on the forums, I can provide you with a form which your parents would need to fill out and fax in to us. However, this is probably more trouble than it's worth since the forums really aren't very active thse days anyway. --[[User:Jake|Ja]][[User_talk:Jake|ke]] 20:33, October 25, 2015 (EDT)

:Hiya! Sorry for arriving 8 years late to the party, but your 13 y/o rule is in compliance with U.S. law, which does indicate that you have to be 13. But is it only to comply those? Because in some European countries, laws like the one recently passed in France stipulate that you have to be 15 or older for that. So I guess you'd have to ask for a specific country to be in copliance with (almost) all those types of law?
