:Posting on the forum is a more social environment, and as such, involves a certain level of accountability. Collecting an email address allows us to increase the barrier of registration to prevent spam accounts and allow us to keep the site family friendly. The wiki is more of a collaborative environment than a social one, is a lot easier to monitor, and has more staff members. A while back it was decided that we would not require emails on the wiki even though it could lead to an increase in spam, in order to allow younger users like yourself to register under the above terms. If you truly want to create an account on the forums, I can provide you with a form which your parents would need to fill out and fax in to us. However, this is probably more trouble than it's worth since the forums really aren't very active thse days anyway. --<span style="color:#008000;font-weight:bold;">Ja</span><span style="color:#E58900;font-weight:bold;">ke</span> 20:33, October 25, 2015 (EDT)

:Hiya! Sorry for arriving 8 years late to the party, but your 13 y/o rule is in compliance with U.S. law, which does indicate that you have to be 13. But is it only to comply those? Because in some European countries, laws like the one recently passed in France stipulate that you have to be 15 or older for that. So I guess you'd have to ask for a specific country to be in copliance with (almost) all those types of law?

Help, I know this might be better suited asking somewhere else
Hello, I would like to know what "Final nookphone" means on villager pages, I know I am supposed to ask on the discord but I cannot enter the discord because I am underage. Thank you, LibbyOcto (talk) 11:39, March 15, 2023 (EDT)

:Hey there! Normally this would be explained on the NookPhone page, and I do have an outline for this information in my sandbox. The only reason this information hasn't been implemented yet is because it will take a lot of time/manpower to actually finish creating the related table that showcases all of the villager NookPhone designs. I can still explain it here for you.

:The customizable phone case kit item allows the player to customize their phone to one of eight default customization patterns: Green, Red, Pink, Black, White, Blue, Yellow, and Beige. They can also use it to customize their phone into one of any of the default Sable designs. The player does not immediately learn these designs, but they slowly collect them from Sable if they talk to her each day after befriending her. These Sable designs can also be used to customize certain furniture items, not just their NookPhone.

:Villagers wandering around outside will randomly take out their phone to browse it before putting it away, and sometimes they bring it out to take a photo of certain furniture placed outside. (You can also force them to take out their phone at Photopia via the "Take a Picture" Reaction at Photopia.)

:Like the customizable phone case kit, villager phones will initially be one of the eight default customization patterns. If the player has not learned any Sable designs, villagers will continue to use the default customization patterns. However, once the player learns the Sable design category, then villagers of that applicable category will upgrade their NookPhone. For example, if a villager's "final NookPhone" comes from the "Retro" category, they will upgrade their phone as soon as the player learns the "Retro" category of Sable designs. There are some villagers/special characters who have no upgraded NookPhone though, and they just continue using one of the eight default customization patterns forever.

:There's another layer of complexity. I was watching video footage of my friend design a villager's house request in short, a villager he did not have in his town. My friend owns all Sable patterns. However, during the house completion sequence, where they show the villager enjoying the house, this villager actually pulled out a NookPhone using one of the eight default customization patterns. So the villager was actually using their "initial NookPhone" rather than their "final NookPhone." Whether this is because of a special ruleset involving short itself, or because it is a villager who does not live in my friend's town, I'm not entirely sure.

:Also, all special characters are assigned an "initial NookPhone" that is one of the eight default customization patterns, but this might actually be purely internal. No one has conducted research in their early game to report if special characters actually use these or not. The constraints would be someone who hasn't befriend Sable and then summons the special characters at Photopia to check their NookPhones via the "Take a Picture" Reaction, but almost all players have all Sable patterns already. Either way, articles list the "initial NookPhone" data anyways, since it's interesting information and the colors usually relate to the special character somehow. (Like how Celeste's "initial NookPhone" is "Pink" to match her pink bow. Though again, this might be purely placeholder data that is unused, but no one really knows for sure.) == Question about PC App Icon 1.0.0.png origin ==

Hello! I've recently been looking into the history of Pocket Camp's app icons and I was wondering something about this image: :File:PC App Icon 1.0.0.png. In my digging I've only encountered a link to the full-square (i.e. without rounded corners) 1,024 × 1,024 version of this image in the page source of the Pocket Camp page in the App Store from 2017/2018 (using the Wayback Machine). However, in 2021 on the :File:PC App Icon 1.0.0.png page the source got listed as 'Nintendo of America', and I read in Discord that in October 2017 you got a press package from the press site. I also noticed that some gaming news sites used the image as well in their articles around that time. So out of curiosity I was wondering if you happen to remember if this image was included in that press package or if you got it somewhere else.

A rare Database Error notice
Hi Jake. A few days ago I was surveying on villagers articles around here (I remembered clicking like, 3-5 pages or so simultaneously that time), and when I viewed one of them, specifically Twiggy's, for some reason I got the prompt of Database Error, even though when I refreshed the page, the prompt is gone. And this is my first time encountering such error in Nookipedia, too (not counting stuffs during the backup period). I was wondering if this error is minor thing, and is the server alright and all. I did bring this up to Drago here hours after that error, but he told me you might know something about it. Can you explain? Thanks. <span style="background:linear-gradient(0deg,blue,cyan); -webkit-background-clip:text !important; -webkit-text-fill-color:transparent;">Starry Windy</span><span style="color:gold">★</span> 09:09, August 20, 2023 (EDT)

:Looks like I've caught another one, this time when loading Toby's page. This time, I found it say... <span style="background:linear-gradient(0deg,blue,cyan); -webkit-background-clip:text !important; -webkit-text-fill-color:transparent;">Starry Windy</span><span style="color:gold">★</span> 12:32, August 27, 2023 (EDT)
