Talk:Fortune cookie/Event Cookies

From Nookipedia, the Animal Crossing wiki

regarding image sizes[edit]

So it would appear that this page is pretty out of date, missing cookies since mid-June. I have found that this separate wiki has a pretty up to date list of them, although their actual cookie images are smaller than what all the others on Nookipedia are. For the sake of having the page more up to date, would the lower quality images suffice temporarily, until better ones can be found? Or is there some other resource that might have these images at the higher resolution? ~ Poppliopal Popplio.png (talk) 18:18, November 1, 2020 (EST)

Hi there,
I was ripping the "newest" cookies on this article from the game and I noticed that the last August Cookies were not made in the bigger resolution, only the smallest resolution was in game (which is the one Gamepedia has).
I'm not sure if this has changed since then, because I couldn't get ACPC to my phone these last months, therefore I was not able to datamine it. But I think it's okay as the last ones are smaller anyway. --PaviinkaPapa Bear WW Model.png(Message me!) 02:13, November 2, 2020 (EST)
Ah okay. That makes sense as to why that's all that seems to be available anywhere. That's too bad the bigger versions aren't available anymore. ~ Poppliopal Popplio.png (talk) 02:50, November 2, 2020 (EST)

Sanrio Sets[edit]

As I work my way up this page creating the Set pages, I'm getting nearer to the Sanrio cookies. Where these pose a unique problem that I'm curious to the solution of is that unlike the other cookies, they do actually have corresponding items in a main game - in New Leaf. However, in the case of the NL items, they are in pages for series, while all of the PC Fortune Cookie items are in sets. Does it make more sense for these to be separate pages to be able to keep the series/set difference, or does it make more sense to put both sets on one page, with separate tables for each game, the way many furniture pages do already for main-series items that are in multiple games? There are also some items that only exist in one game or the other, though the separate tables would easily be able to list this. Also, separate but related, in the PC catalogue for the Sanrio sets, some items that were not part of the cookie rewards (Premium Collection backpacks, wallpaper, and floors, as well as clothing and pics unlocked from friendship leveling) are listed together in the same catalogue sets. Would these still make sense to list together with the Fortune Cookie items, maybe in their own tables? Or should they have a different page? ~ Poppliopal Popplio.png (talk) 05:27, November 15, 2020 (EST)

Hi there,
I'm not sure about the sets/collections thing, because regarding to PC, it's a "catalog category". I asked way back for some opinions and how the items are separated, and they're in "sets" and "collections" etc. because of the room scoring. Which does not apply to PC. However, the first pages were created as sets, so I just continued with that. I think that for sets that are in NL and in PC, it should be listed in one article. Like the Modern Series lists the Modern category. Until, ofc, the "item" pages are made for all the games, where there would be a link between the same items in the games.
Sometimes though, there's also this mess happening: some catalog categories have items in them, that belong to some other category in NL. That's mostly regular items problem, though. It's a mess haha. (Like, the school category I think. Or the Art one.)
And regarding Sanrio category, I think that we should list all items from a category on one article. Two tables sounds optimal though, so you don't have to add notes to half of the rows, haha. --PaviinkaPapa Bear WW Model.png(Message me!) 05:57, November 15, 2020 (EST)
Ah okay, that makes sense for the reason that they're categorized like that. And that's kind of what I was thinking wrt keeping things together in an article, I just wasn't sure if there was a reason the PC one needed to be a "set" but if that's not an issue combining the pages makes way more sense.
I guess when I get to those I'll have a look at the pages that do combine PC and other game furniture together to format them similarly.
One more messy thing I'm noticing already though is that the items from the Kiki and Lala cookie are in the category of "Little Twin Stars" for PC, but in NL it's just the "Kiki and Lala Series." Most of the items are the same so it seems that they should be listed together if the other sets are, but I'm not sure how this name difference should be dealt with. ~ Poppliopal Popplio.png (talk) 06:26, November 15, 2020 (EST)
That sounds similar to the "Boxing theme" in the mainline games. In PC it is a "Pro Wrestling" set, so I just added it to the Boxing theme and created a redirect to PC table on that article. I would do the same thing for Kiki and Lala, personally. --PaviinkaPapa Bear WW Model.png(Message me!) 06:45, November 15, 2020 (EST)
That makes sense! Thank you for all the advice! ~ Poppliopal Popplio.png (talk) 06:58, November 15, 2020 (EST)
