We're glad you've taken the step to create an account and edit our wiki! With an account you'll now be able to easily edit pages, participate in discussions, watch pages, track your edits, and have access to additional editing tools. You can also create and edit your own user page.

If you intend to continue editing, here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Read our wiki's general use and editing, and privacy policies.
  • Preview your changes before saving them to avoid the need for making corrections afterwards.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes instead of undoing or reinstating changes repeatedly without discussion.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This code will automatically leave your name and a timestamp.

You can find editing tutorials and further information about our policies on the help pages.

Where to start? Check out the The Roost for the latest discussions, or consult the to-do list on the Main Page to see tasks that need to be worked on.
Questions? Feel free to ask a member of staff directly, post your question on the The Roost talk page, or ask about it on our Discord icon Discord server. We're always happy to help!

Slow down and review your edits[edit]

I appreciate the effort to improve articles, but please slow down and spend more time reviewing your contributions. For example, your edits to Tom Nook included several spelling mistakes. You also added repeated out-of-place information to the lead, and added that Tom Nook's name might be a reference to the Nook tablet - even though the Nook tablet was released 10 years after Animal Crossing.

Before adding to articles, make sure what you're adding is new, correct, and fits in with the rest of the text. Continuing to rapidly make edits that have to be reverted is considered disruptive and may result in a block. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 02:31, April 2, 2024 (EDT)

Ok thank you, I want to be better at editing and I am also wondering what spelling mistake did I make? Because I did not see one, and also how much time should i spend so I'm not making edits rapidly on here. I wanna be a guy that can make good edits, and I'm trying to add stuff from my research and knowledge. Thank you - unsigned comment from AJMarioFan2323 (talkcontribs) 01:35, April 2, 2024 (EDT)

First things first, I recommend reading our policy and Manual of Style for how edits should be made.
In your Tom Nook edits, you misspelled "clothes" as "clohtes", and "Isabelle" as "osabelle". Names and proper nouns should also be capitalized. You can use the "Show preview" and "Show changes" buttons (next to the "Save changes" button) to review your changes before saving them.
From what I see, I think you are adding information to articles for the sake of it, without accounting for what's already in the article. Your contribution to Tom Nook, for example, inserted a bunch of information into the first sentence without modifying the rest of the sentence, and it became one big run-on sentence with repeated info. Your goal shouldn't be to add things to articles for the sake of adding it. Instead, you should thoughtfully identify when articles are missing information and help fill those gaps.
If you have things you'd like to add to an article, I recommend leaving a message on the talk page to suggest your planned changes. Other editors can chime in and let you know if it's a good idea.
Also, please be sure to sign your talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~).
