Over the past few years, there have been several staff discussions on The Bulletin Boards and on Discord proposing that autoconfirmed requirements be reduced. These never reached a resolution, so I am now going to make a new proposal here. I personally think that we should reduce the time requirement to '''four days''' instead of a week, but still require 10 edits to become autoconfirmed. Reducing this wait will make things more convenient and accessible for new users (especially as some key abilities, such as editing templates, require autoconfirmation), while still giving us strong protection against vandalism. Thoughts? Proposal to reduce autoconfirmed time requirement
Over the past few years, there have been several staff discussions on The Bulletin Boards and on Discord proposing that autoconfirmed requirements be reduced. These never reached a resolution, so I am now going to make a new proposal here. I personally think that we should reduce the time requirement to four days instead of a week, but still require 10 edits to become autoconfirmed. Reducing this wait will make things more convenient and accessible for new users (especially as some key abilities, such as editing templates, require autoconfirmation), while still giving us strong protection against vandalism.
