The Bean Throwing Festival (also known as Mamemaki) is an event that was introduced in Dōbutsu no Mori and later reappeared in Japanese versions of Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It occurs in February on the first day of no more snow in the town. Villagers will be carrying throwing beans throughout the day.

Appearances

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

The player will find Isabelle in the Event Plaza. When spoken to, she will give the player either a Red or Blue Oni Mask. If the player talks to villagers while wearing the Oni mask, they will do a shocked emotion, and start throwing beans at the player.

Trivia
