A note in a bottle is an item in Animal Crossing: Wild World. One can be used to write a letter, which can then be released into the sea. Afterward, the player can enter Tag Mode, which allows for local wireless trading of note in a bottle letters, constellations, and villagers. Notes in bottles traded from other players appear washed up on the beach. Additionally, notes in bottles with prewritten letters can occasionally wash up on the beach.
A note in a bottle can be obtained from Tom Nook's store for 200 Bells.
