Shouldn't this template be protected? Even though we generally don't use this, I think it would be a good idea in case a vandal changes this template and tricks a clueless person who might run off because the welcome message was too weird. 09:12, September 10, 2020 (EDT)

It already is semi-protected (only autoconfirmed users can edit it). Also, templates in general can only be edited by autoconfirmed users currently. Drago (talk) 11:04, September 10, 2020 (EDT)
