- For the painting that was called the Amazing Painting in Animal Crossing, please see Calm Painting.
The Amazing Painting is one of the pieces of artwork available in the Animal Crossing series games. This piece is based on the 1642 work Night Watch (De Nachtwacht) by Dutch painter Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn. Since the Amazing Painting is available only at Crazy Redd's, one should be wary of forgeries.
Authenticity
In New Leaf, if the man in white is on the left and the man in black is on the right, it is fake. If the man in white is on the right and the man in black is on the left, it is genuine.
in New Horizons, if the man in black does not have a hat, it is fake. If the man does have a hat, it is genuine.

Museum exhibit description
- "A painting of a city militia that was found, after restoration of the work, to take place in the daylight."
- — Museum Exhibit, Animal Crossing: New Leaf
- The Night Watch
- Rembrandt van Rijn, 1642, Oil on canvas
- "This masterpiece, painted by 17th century Dutch artist Rembrandt, depicts a military gathering. At the time, portraits usually showed their subjects standing still. So this was a leap forward in technique. For many years, art scholars thought the painting was set at night, but a restoration revealed a dark varnish. We can now see the dynamic poses and lighting as they were meant to be seen—in the daytime!"
