Festivale is an event in the SER that occurs in CF, NL, and NH. It takes place in February or March, two days before Ash Wednesday. Pavé hosts the event and during it, confetti falls from the sky, items themed around the event can be obtained, and villagers dance around while singing the town tune. The player's objective is to collect specific items as requested by Pavé. If the player obtains the items, Pavé gives them an item from the Pavé Series (short and short) or Festivale Series (short). In short, the player must collect candy, while in short and short the player must collect feathers.

Festivale is based on Mardi Gras, the last day of Carnival, a festive season occurring before Lent.

Festivale is a spring event that happens in February or March. Pavé hosts the event in front of Town Hall. During the event, confetti will be raining down from the sky. As some neighbors will point out, there will be no snow or rain during the entire day. Festivale is quoted by Nintendo Power, as an 'all-day festival of color, costumes and craziness!' Festivale is based on Mardi Gras, the last day of Carnival, a festive season occurring before Lent.

In both games that Festivale appears in, the player's objective is to collect specific items (candy/feathers) as requested by Pavé. If the player obtains the items, Pavé will give them an item from the Pavé Series. In CF, the player must collect candy, and in NL, the player must collect feathers.

In CF during the day, neighbors walking around the town challenge the player by asking them to play games, with the chance to win candy. However, if the player loses, they have to give some candy or 500 Bells to the villager. There is no limit of how many games can be played with the neighbors, but only the ones outside of their homes offer to play games.

One wrong guess results in losing. If players win, they get to pick what color candy they receive.

In NL, the event is slightly different compared to the Festivale in City Folk. Unlike the objective in City Folk, the player must collect feathers instead of candy for Pavé. During the day, feathers can be seen falling from the sky along with confetti (the feathers can be obtained using a net). This event has a challenging objective due to the difficulty of identifying the feather color from the confetti. The event can be played with town guests, making it a bit easier to complete groups of feathers by working together.

The villagers walking around the town can be found wearing headdresses with different colored feathers on top of them. They may also be heard singing the town tune. Animals inside and outside their homes will both offer to play games with the player to win feathers. Some animals will offer the player a feather without asking for anything in return.

Pavé appears in the event plaza and asks the player to find feathers of a specific color. If the player obtains the specific number of feathers requested by Pavé or obtains a rainbow feather, then Pavé performs a dance. After Pavé has finished dancing, he gives the player an item from the Pavé Series.
+
There is a new game that involves the player guessing which way the villager will move his/her head, by doing that at the same time. When a player loses, they simply do not get a feather or they will lose a feather instead of paying 500 bells.

On the seven days before Festivale, the Able Sisters sells either the Festivale tank, Festivale tank dress, Festivale pants, or Festivale accessory. On the day of event, the shop sells all four items.

If the player obtains the specific number of feathers requested by Pavé or obtains a rainbow feather, then Pavé performs a dance (or a special dance if the player has obtained the rainbow feather). After Pavé has finished dancing, he will give the player a piece of furniture from the Pavé Series.

Obtainable items
*Trading - Villagers may ask to trade one of the player's feathers for theirs (exchange colors).
+
Feathers can be collected from the sky during Festivale; players use a net to catch them. After giving the feathers Pavé requested, Pavé will dance and exclaim depending on the color of the feathers given, and he gives furniture from the Pavé Series. Shown below are the available feather colors.
*Charades - The villager performs emotions depicting a concept. The player then needs to choose the correct concept from a list.

* Rock, Paper, Scissors - The villager starts a countdown whereupon reaching 1 the player selects either rock, paper, or scissors. The player only has to win once to obtain the feather.

Rainbow is the rarest color. Consequently, Pavé accepts any rainbow feather regardless of what color he has requested.

While initially absent from NH, Festivale was added in the 1.7.0 Free Update. Pavé returns as the host of the event, and like in short, the player must catch and bring him colored feathers.

From February 1 until the day before the event, Nook's Cranny sells Festivale-themed furniture, and the Able Sisters sells Festivale-themed clothing. Additionally, for a limited time, Nook's Cranny sells the Viva Festivale Reaction Set, which includes four Festivale-themed Reactions: Feelin' It, Let's Go, Viva, and Confetti.

On the day of Festivale, Pavé asks the player for three of a specific color of feathers—either a blue feather, green feather, purple feather, or red feather—which can be found floating around the island and can be caught with a net. He also gives the player the DIY recipe for a rainbow feather, which requires one of each of the other feathers. If the player gives him the correct three feathers, or a single rainbow feather, Pavé gives them a random item from the Festivale Series, and the color variation of the item given depends on the feather(s) given. After the player exchanges feathers with Pavé nine times, he asks them to bring him three rainbow feathers. If the player brings him them, he gives them the Festivale float and goes into a dancing frenzy.

During the event, villagers dress up in Festivale-themed clothing (male villagers wear Festivale costume and females wear the Festivale tank dress) and perform Festivale dances with each other. They approach the player to talk to them, but unlike on Halloween, they do not force them into a chat. They can trade one to three feathers with the player. Villagers ask for feathers of the same color as their outfits if the player has any, and feathers of other colors if they do not. The color of the feathers that they are willing to trade for varies.

If Pavé is invited to The Roost, he mentions that Festivale takes place on a Monday 40 days before Bunny Day, not counting Sundays. This is in reference to Festivale's real-world connection to Lent.
