Not sure why this was marked for deletion, as the nominator didn't provide a reason. Anyway, this page leads to a .jpg, which a lot of people might type .jpeg instead, which is why we have this redirect (or it was moved from .jpeg to .jpg, I dunno). ~ Vivian (talk) 11:06, July 1, 2021 (EDT)

I'll admit that the whole jpeg to jpg move started by Trig wasn't exactly the smartest move. Sure, there are many users that use jpg over jpeg, but there really isn't any difference between the two besides a one letter word change. I'll say that it's likely due to consistency more than anything else.

Though leaving this redirect alone is not the best idea. Searching the file name will just give two results overall, and that will just leave confusion over which file is the more legitimate one. -- PanchamBro (talk • contributions) 16:06, July 6, 2021 (EDT)

I think jpeg->jpg is good for the sake of consistency, but if the redirect is disruptive in search we can just delete it, not a big deal. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 18:15, July 11, 2021 (EDT)
