'''Rex''' is a [[lazy]] [[lion]] [[villager]] in the {{SER}}. He initially appeared in {{DnM}}, {{PG}}, and {{DnMe+}}, but remained absent from the franchise until {{NLWa}}. He has been present in every game since. His name comes from the Latin word "rex," which means "king," relating to the common metaphor that lions are "kings of the jungle." His English name is [[Flick]]'s (New Horizons) Japanese name.

Rex is an orange lion with a brown mane. He has three freckles on both of his cheeks, and a dark brown nose. He has half-closed eyes with purple eyelids.

===Personality===

As a [[lazy]] villager, Rex has a relaxed, laid-back lifestyle and will appear friendly toward the player. He often talks about food and is humorous or naïve during conversations. During conversations with other villagers, he generally gets along well with [[peppy]], [[smug]], and [[cranky]] villagers, while [[snooty]] and [[jock]] villagers may not get along with him due to their conflicting lifestyles. In {{NH|short}}, Rex goes to sleep at 11 PM and wakes up at 8 AM.
