In NH, the savings account can be accessed from the Nook Stop at Resident Services. The player's Bells are stored in the Bank of Nook. The player receives 0.05% interest on the first of each month, with a maximum of 9,999 Bells. Prior to version 1.2.0, the player would receive 0.5% interest on the first of each month, with a maximum of 99,999 Bells; after downloading the 1.2.0 update, the Bank of Nook would send the player a Bell-bag rug as an apology for the decreased interest rates.

With the release of the 2.0 update, it is now possible to redeem a separate ABD from the Nook Stop. Once redeemed, the player can set it up anywhere and can now access the ABD without having to go to the Nook Stop first. An ABD is also available at Harv's Island. In HHP, after the player has done around 25 vacation homes, Lottie will set up an Automated Bell and Poki Dispenser (AB&PD), to allow the player to deposit Poki and do exchanges between Bells and Poki. There is a limit of 30,000 Bells and 15,000 Poki that can be exchanged at a time, and the exchange rates change every day.
