Move the amiibo card artwork to its own category?[edit]

I feel that almost all of the renders in this category should be moved to their own category called Category:amiibo card artwork. Although series 1 amiibo cards were released pretty much at the same time as Happy Home Designer, series 1-4 amiibo cards are compatible with multiple generation 3 games, including amiibo Festival and Welcome amiibo, and were not meant to solely represent Happy Home Designer. In a way, the amiibo cards could almost be more strongly linked with amiibo Festival character art rather than Happy Home Designer character art, due to the inclusion of the dice and rock-paper-scissors symbols, features that are exclusively used in amiibo Festival. I believe that the amiibo cards are meant to represent generation 3 as a whole, rather than any specific game of the generation 3 games.

(However, to Happy Home Designer's credit, the amiibo cards are still pretty strongly linked with Happy Home Designer, because if you scan them, you can actually see the little card backgrounds, dice symbol and all, in your client book, like here. Though the in-game character sprites overlaid on top of the cards aren't the same as the amiibo card renders and are unique to Happy Home Designer.)

The series 5 amiibo cards, which came out 5 years after the series 4 amiibo cards, were released a year after the release of New Horizons. Similar to how the series 1-4 amiibo card artwork is extremely similar to the style of the New Leaf renders, you can see that the series 5 amiibo card artwork is definitely extremely similar in style to the New Horizons renders. However, series 5 amiibo card artwork is not the same as the New Horizons renders. Take Cephalobot for example: although he has amiibo card series 5 artwork of him looking to the right (here), he has a completely different render, which is his actual New Horizons render, of him looking at the audience (here). Both are being categorized as Category:New Horizons character artwork, but I feel this is inaccurate. I feel it should be categorized as either Category:amiibo card artwork, or a sub-category, such as "Category:Series 5 amiibo card artwork."

I think that the amiibo card artwork should be moved out of Category:Happy Home Designer character artwork and Category:New Horizons character artwork, and into Category:amiibo card artwork instead. HylianAngel (talk) 23:15, March 21, 2023 (EDT)

Support Support I totally agree. There are pieces of NH artwork that aren't associated with Amiibo at all, so Amiibo art should be in its own separate category. I think we should consider doing something similar with E-Reader cards too, especially the U.S. ones since the artwork they use is exclusive to them. Making these changes would make it far easier to find Amiibo-specific artwork and E-Reader card-specific artwork. FizzyCocoaMan (talk) 00:14, March 27, 2023 (EDT)
Comment Comment I went ahead and made a category for e-Reader card artwork here: Category:e-Reader card artwork HylianAngel (talk) 18:20, March 28, 2023 (EDT)
