Popeyed Goldfish[edit]

This may have been an incorrect removal on my part, but out of an overabundance of caution, I reverted an edit involving an unused "Popeyed Goldfish" item. I'm not able to find any information about it online, not even in the unused items like on The Cutting Room Floor. Would you happen to have a link to a source involving this? It would be good to include it with the article. HylianAngel (talk) 16:18, September 27, 2023 (EDT)

Hi there! Thank you for your comment. The source for the glitched popeyed goldfish is here: https://youtube.com/watch?v=XKSMs6Fe6i8 The player uses this item to warp to a beta map. -PizzaPizza72 (talk) 17:31, September 27, 2023 (EDT)
I see, thank you so much for the additional information. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think it's possible that the AR code made an edit of an existing item in order to activate the warp to an unused area, rather than it being a legitimate leftover item in the game files. I could be wrong though. The unused items section of the Prerelease and unused content in Animal Crossing page is more about items that were already part of the game, rather than items created by users through modifications. Yeah, it seems like the popeyed goldfish was created by an Action Replay code and not in the game from the get-go. Thank you for addressing this misinformation. *EDIT:* I was watching a youtube video about Animal Crossing Action Replay codes, and it seems like there are more of these "items" that drop things like trees, rocks, etc... and their icons are flower bags, raffle tickets, an orange, etc... So there are more of the glitched popeyed goldfish that have different functions. -PizzaPizza72 (talk) 18:32, September 27, 2023 (EDT)
