Nate is an orange bear with a thick, green unibrow and black, dotlike eyes. He appears to pull a continuous unhappy look upon his face, due to his mouth meeting at his black, triangular nose. He also has three freckles on each cheek, a white snout, and cream paws.

As a [[lazy]] villager, Nate has a relaxed, laid-back lifestyle and will appear friendly toward the player. He often talks about food and is humorous or naïve during conversations. During conversations with other villagers, he generally gets along well with [[peppy]], [[smug]], and [[cranky]] villagers, while [[snooty]] and [[jock]] villagers may not get along with him due to their conflicting lifestyles.
