This is just a quick reference on how to use each field.

  • name: The name of the villager.
  • spacing: Set custom spacing between villager name translations. (optional)
  • ja-name: The villager's Japanese name.
  • ko-name: The villager's Korean name.
  • zh-name: The villager's Simplified Chinese name from New Horizons onwards. For the villager's iQue name, use Template:Foreignname.
  • fr-name: The villager's French name.
  • it-name: The villager's Italian name.
  • es-name: The villager's Spanish name.
  • de-name: The villager's German name.
  • nl-name: The villager's Dutch name.
  • ru-name: The villager's Russian name.
  • image: The image file. Do not include [[File:Example.jpg]]! In this case, you would put Example.jpg.
  • imagesize: the size of the image. Please be sure to include "px" at the end. Default is 200px.
  • gender: The gender of the villager will go here. Male or Female.

  • As of 8/10/15 any pages using the skill, goal, or style parameters will be tagged with Category:Pages with an outdated infobox villager template as these fields have been moved into Template:Villager Info.
  • As of 6/18/2018, any pages using the appearances or other parameters will also be tagged with the above category, as they have been replaced.
  • As of 8/28/2018, any pages using the debut and latest parameters will also be tagged with the above category, as they have been removed.
  • As of 9/5/2018, any pages using the song parameter will also be tagged with the above category, as it has been moved to Template:House.
  • As of 3/5/2019, the initial umbrella section has been removed, and any pages using the parameter will be tagged with the above category.
  • As of 2/10/2020, the japanese parameter has been replaced with j-name (and parameters for 8 other languages were added), any pages using the parameter will be tagged with Category:Pages with an outdated infobox villager template. The star sign will appear alongside a villager's birthday instead of on a separate line unless the villager just has a star sign. 9 additional parameters were added to allow for villager phrases in different languages.
  • As of 3/19/2020, three new phrase parameters were added: fq-phrase, ct-phrase and sla-phrase to allow for the display of Québec French, Traditional Chinese, and Latin American Spanish phrases respectively.
  • As of 5/19/2020, the language initials has been replaced following the ISO 639-1 standard.
