What use does the color parameter serve? You can say, bullsh*t "Feng Shui", but if that's true, then the only colors listed should be yellow, green, and red. But, many users, including me, are confused at what exactly we should input the colors. What's more confusing is exactly how this Feng Shui thing works. Stuff like Green series, it sounds obvious, but what about items that have just some green? Or greenish items, like the teal Pavé series? And what happens if the item gets recolored by Cyrus? There's no practical way to test how Feng Shui works in this game either. So yeah, there's quite a few beefs I have with this "color" parameter.

- It's supposed to be the item's Feng Shui color, so it is indeed supposed to be either yellow, green, or red. I've clarified the meaning of color on the table. I haven't played New Leaf much, but as far as I'm aware, furniture items come with a default Feng Shui color that isn't dependent on Cyrus recolorings. I know Lyle sometimes comments on certain furniture properly matching Feng Shui during Happy Room Academy evaluations, which is how one can 'officially' confirm an item's color. As far as I know, the color for each furniture item has been well-documented (e.g. Thonky), and for the most part, if it looks green, it's green, if it's pink, it's red, etc. I think this is a valid and useful parameter for the table, but we can discuss removing it if there's a compelling reason. ~SuperHamster Talk 19:06, July 21, 2014 (EDT)
- To clarify, almost all items in ACNL have two color designations. The color choices are: yellow, green, red, orange, blue, aqua, pink, purple, colorful, beige, brown, white, gray, and black. Only items with the colors yellow, green, or red count towards feng shui. An item can have two of the same color designation (e.g. red/red) or can have differing designations (e.g. aqua/colorful). An item's color designation does not always match its visual appearance. An item's color is used by the game to compute the player's color bonus score (one of many sources of bonus points that make up a player's total HHA score) and is factored into villager preferences (each villager has a favorite color of item). My go-to source for any item-related information is Liquefy's guide to ACNL items.
