From Nookipedia, the Animal Crossing wiki

Desert Island Escape is a minigame in Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival and Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo. The player controls a group of three villagers or special characters who must escape an island by obtaining the parts to construct a raft before running out of time or food.

Gameplay

There are three difficulties of Desert Island Escape: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each difficulty has 10 levels, each of which is on a different island. The player must choose three villagers or special characters to participate in the game. The objective is to have the characters explore the island, which is divided into hexagonal spaces, in search of three logs and a sail to build a raft to escape on before running out of time or food. A secondary objective is to beat a target score.

When a character lands on a space, they can find an item, material, or raft part, or enter a scenario.
