HistoryEdit

The Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance was started when Zelda Wiki, a wiki covering The Legend of Zelda series, sought affiliation with Bulbapedia, a wiki covering Pokémon, in January of 2010. A suggestion was made soon after to create a network of independent Nintendo-oriented wikis. This suggestion was agreed upon and soon after, Super Mario Wiki, a wiki containing information about the Mario series, was contacted to join the network with Zelda Wiki and Bulbapedia. The staff of the three wikis collaborated to create the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance, which was finally launched on February 14, 2010.
