Did you mean the island that forms when a town has a river that splits?

The island as it appears on the Game Boy Advance

The Island, also known as Animal Island, is a location that first appears in Template:AF+. It later reappears in its port, Animal Crossing and later in Template:AFe+ with new islanders. It is separate from the main town, therefore getting its own name. In Animal Forest + and Animal Crossing, a Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable and a Game Boy Advance are needed to get to the island, while they are not in Animal Forest e+.

Features

The boat Kapp'n uses to get to the island.

The islands weather is always summer, regardless of the main town's weather. Once on the island, the player will soon discover their single island villager, who can be one of several island-exclusive villagers, and their island bungalow. The bungalow can be customized in the same way as the player's house. There is no gyroid outside the bungalow, so it is not possible to save on the island. Outside, the player will find multiple flowers and coconut trees. They can interact with the islander, catch season-exclusive fish and bugs, and take the coconuts to sell back in their own town.

The player can leave the island and return to the mainland by speaking to Kapp'n. Kapp'n will ask the player if they would like to save their island to their Game Boy Advance. If the player chooses to do so, they must set up the connection to the Game Boy Advance once more. Kapp'n will save the island to the Game Boy Advance. Once the island is loaded onto the Game Boy Advance, the player can interact with the villager on the island, helping them catch fish, eat fruits or coconuts left on the ground, or catch flying presents, all while their character returns to their home village.

The changes made to the island in the Game Boy Advance can then be uploaded back to the Nintendo GameCube the next time the player goes to visit the island. This can be a useful tactic for making Bells, as the island villagers can drop slowly increasing amounts of Bells for the player's interactions. The player can also tan when outside in sunny weather as the climate is perpetually mainland summer. However, overexposure to the sun can cause the player a sunburn. Sunburns can be prevented if the player equips and umbrella.

The island is required in order to obtain Wario's Woods and Baseball.

Getting to the Island

With a GameBoy Advance

  1. Hook up Gameboy and turn it on, Kapp'n will appear at the dock
  2. Talk to Kapp'n and he will take you to the island

Without a Gameboy Advance

  1. After starting up AR (Action Replay), turn on "Press Z to jump". Note that you have to use the Northeastern (upper-left) house.
  2. Turn on Animal Crossing, and make sure you select the upper-left person.
  3. Walk down to the dock where Kapp'n normally shows up.
  4. Jump (Z) into the water and walk about two acres south. Note that Z-Jump may not always work.
  5. Jump (Z) onto the your Island. Note that if you have not previously sailed with Kapp'n, you can not name your island.

Islanders

Main article: Islander

Each island will have one islander. In Template:AF+ and Animal Crossing, it can be one of 18. In Template:AFe+, 18 new islanders were added, making a total of 36 available.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf

The island returns in Animal Crossing: New Leaf as a place where friends can visit to play minigames hosted by a retired Tortimer, which they call 'tours'. This now eradicates the need for players to create their own minigames as things such as Balloon Pop.

When players complete a 'tour', they are given a certain number of medals, depending on how well all the players performed. Using these medals, the players can buy items and souvenirs from the shop on the island, which they can take home. The store appears to be run by other Kappas/Turtles like Kapp'n. In the top left corner is the desk where players go to choose the tour they want to play. If they don't have others to play with, they are able to play with random players online through matchmaking.
