Vandals

As you can see on the Recent Changes, there's some annoying vandals just blanking pages and creating pointless ones. We should do something about this. --Safyire (talk) 23:38, May 28, 2015 (EDT)

Wookiee's got the latest one covered. Sorry I couldn't help, but unfortunately I cannot be online 24/7. As for the problem as a whole, there's not much that can be done. We can't even place a range block on the vandals, since they are all coming from completely different IP ranges. Might bring up a discussion on the forums to see if we should disable IP editing again. Red (talk) Red Snapper WW Sprite.png 11:47, May 29, 2015 (EDT)

If you disable IP editing, will it be permanent or not?

--50.136.149.237 13:48, May 29, 2015 (EDT)

Nope, it will only be temporary, to allow the vandal(s) to move on. It looks like this will be implemented soon as well, especially if the vandal returns yet again. I'd suggest that you create an account to edit to avoid any problems. Your contributions have not gone unnoticed. :) Red (talk) Red Snapper WW Sprite.png 05:30, May 30, 2015 (EDT)

Some pointers on converting the CF bug table

Hey Red, I see you're working on updating the CF table- thanks a lot! You mentioned having trouble getting the months to display right- here's how that part of the template works: All text entered in that column is automatically made small and grey. What you need to do is enter the month abbreviations "J F M A M J J A S O N D" and then change the color and bold the months where the bug appears. Let's say that there is a bug that is found in April and July through September. Here's the code you'd use to show that:

J F M {{Colorshow|32B311|'''A'''}} M J {{Colorshow|32B311|'''J A S'''}} O N D

which would look like this in the table: J F M A M J J A S O N D.

You may have noticed that I used a different code in the fish tables...

J F M <font color{{=}}"#32B311">'''A'''</font> M <font color{{=}}"#32B311">'''J J A S'''</font> O N D

This is because I hadn't yet realized that Template:Colorshow does the same thing. Using the template is easier, IMO, but you can use whichever format makes life easier for you.

I also wanted to give you a few tips for converting the table. Because the new template format is very similar to the original layout of the table input, just without a lot of the cell-specific CSS code, using a series of find and replace commands will make short work of the conversion process. I use an add-on called Find and Replace for Firefox and it works great. You should be able to find something similar if you use a common web browser. To convert that table you're working on, here's what I would do.

  1. Replace all instances of "| style="border: 1px solid #DAEDD3;" |" with "| ". (This gives us an extra space in some cases, which we remove in the next step.)
  2. Replace all instances of "|  <small>" with "| <small>"
  3. Replace all instances of "| bgcolor="#C8E1B0" style="border: 0px solid #DAEDD3;" |[[" with "| [["
  4. Manually replace the "|-" at the start of the list with "{{TableContent".
  5. Replace all remaining instances of "|-" with
"}}
{{TableContent"

And you're basically done. Let me know if you have any questions about the conversion process or anything template related. Sunmarshsignature.png (talk) 10:50, August 3, 2015 (EDT)

Vandal

I discourage contacting any obvious vandals since they desire attention. If another user causes such disruptive edits again, a quick perma block does the trick. Mario Signature.png 20:57, August 24, 2015 (EDT)

I suspect they were the same vandals with the same kind of "n00bs got rekt" "scrubz" and other similar incoherent content, but their I.P.s share different strings. Either way, they have nary a single not-even-barely constructive edit out of all 5-10 edits they've made, so they get a block. Mario Signature.png 13:45, August 26, 2015 (EDT)

Heavy Vandalism

I got an email stating that someone changed a page I was watching. It turned out to be vandalism. From the recent changes page, you can see that JohnCenaFan7 and Chadderbox have been heavily vandalizing the Wiki. Please ban or warn them as they are disruptive.
