New images of amiibo cards available

Don't have time to import them all right now, but wanted to note that the official Nintendo Norway site posted large images of some cards (including the pack art and a HQ look at what looks to be the back of the cards) here. Also the Japanese site is revealing a new card each day. The cards also showed up on the American amiibo website and confirmed there will be 6 cards per pack compared to EU/JP's 3. Moving template on amiibo cards to its own page

(Before I say anything just note that this is not something that needs to happen here and now, and the move would only be warranted if Nintendo continues to support this format.) As you have probably noticed by now, sunmarsh has done it again, creating a template in which info on amiibo cards based on the Animal Crossing series can be found. My concern is that, if Nintendo continues to support this format and release more cards depicting villagers and special characters - which is likely - it will be too much too much for a page whose purpose is to detail amiibo as a whole (the figurines, functionally, and cards). I propose we move the template to it's own page titled "List of Animal Crossing amiibo cards" or something. Thoughts? - unsigned comment from XXSuperXXNintendoXx (talk • contribs)

The List of amiibo cards already exists. The list on that page is transcluded into this one, meaning that the character count on this page remains relatively low. The table also defaults to a collapsed state on any page it is transcluded into (including this one). This ensures it doesn't take up much of the page and the information is only displayed if the user decides to expand the table. You are correct though that Nintendo does intend to release more; 200 cards have been announced so far. I personally believe that the amiibo cards deserve their own main article page, so when and if that is created I would be in favor of moving the list to that page. For now though I thought it made sense to put it on this page since it's looking a bit stubby. (talk) 19:21, August 3, 2015 (EDT)

sunmarsh, if you want to go ahead and make a page for the amiibo card right now, then you have my approval. Amiibo descriptions

It might make sense to convert the list of amiibo figures into a table format and include the official descriptions and release dates from the website (here's Lottie's for example). HylianAngel (talk) 19:48, November 6, 2022 (EST)

Wow, it's all very comprehensive and well-polished! It's great that the figure descriptions are on the individual special character pages too since they provide a small amount of "lore" about the character. It's way better than how I was initially envisioning it (just adding a table to the "amiibo" page). And yeah, that's sensible to keep the amiibo figure prose intact, since the amiibo card section is also prose and not a table. HylianAngel (talk) 01:22, November 7, 2022 (EST)

You might already be aware of this, but is there a character limit on "strings" in cargo tables? It looks like some of them (like Cyrus's) are getting cut off on List of amiibo figures. HylianAngel (talk) 01:31, November 7, 2022 (EST)

Ah, nice catch. After some searching I found out that the String datatype can only hold up to 255 characters, but Text can hold more. The table should display the full descriptions now. ~ AlexBot2004 (Talk) 08:20, November 7, 2022 (EST)

Sort of interesting, though there isn't too much to glean and in ways offers less information compared to https://www.nintendo.com/amiibo/line-up/.
