Nintendo Badge Arcade is a freemium application for the Nintendo 3DS released in 2014 in Japan and worldwide in 2015. The game consists of various crane-game minigames where the player collects various badges referencing various gaming franchises, mostly from Nintendo. These badges, when obtained, can be used to customize the 3DS's HOME MENU, as well as replacing icons for certain Nintendo 3DS applications such as Nintendo 3DS Sound. The game also offers exclusive custom 3DS HOME MENU themes to unlock.

The game can be played for free via daily gameplay, special promotions, and offers, however obtaining additional plays requires real money, with each play being sold for $1 USD each. As of 2017, no new badges have been added to the game due to storage limitations.[6]
