This infobox is for articles about villagers in the series. Many of the parameters are straightforward, but the below ones require special consideration:

  • ID is the villager ID.
  • species is the villager's species.
  • personality is the villager's personality.
    • personality-note is the note of villager's personality. (optional)
    • prev-personality is the villager's personality from past game(s).
      • prev-personality-note is the note of villager's personality from past game(s).
  • gender is the villager's gender.
  • birthday is the villager's birthday (optional for villagers who didn't appear after Doubutsu no Mori e+).
  • sign is the villager's star sign.
    • sign2 is the villager's star sign if it's different in previous games (optional).
  • quote is the villager's photo saying (using quote from New Horizons or earlier games if villager didn't appear).
  • phrase is the villager's default catchphrase.
    • phrase-note is the note of villager's default catchphrase (optional).
    • prev-phrase is the villager's default catchphrase from past game(s) (optional).
      • prev-phrase-note is the note of villager's default catchphrase from past game(s) (optional).
  • clothes1, clothes2, clothes3, and clothes4 are the villager's default clothes within games.
    • clothes1-note, clothes2-note, clothes3-note, and clothes4-note are the notes of villager's default clothes within games.

The appearances are auto-assigned depending on category using Template:Infobox Appearance and PageInCat extension.

Syntax Guide

This is just a quick reference on how to use each field.

  • name: The name of the villager.
  • spacing: Set custom spacing between villager name translations. (optional)
  • ja-name: The villager's Japanese name.
  • ko-name: The villager's Korean name.
  • zh-name: The villager's Simplified Chinese name from New Horizons onwards. For the villager's iQue name, use Template:Foreignname.
  • fr-name: The villager's French name.
  • it-name: The villager's Italian name.
  • es-name: The villager's Spanish name.
  • de-name: The villager's German name.
  • nl-name: The villager's Dutch name.
  • ru-name: The villager's Russian name.
  • image: The image file. Do not include [[File:Example.jpg]]! In this case, you would put Example.jpg.
  • imagesize: the size of the image. Please be sure to include "px" at the end. Default is 200px.
  • gender: The gender of the villager will go here. Male or Female.
  • personality: The villager's set personality. For example, Agent S's personality is Peppy.
  • species: The species the villager belongs to.
  • birthday: The day the villager was born.
  • sign: The villager's current zodiac sign.
  • note1: Space to place notes regarding a villager's current zodiac sign.
  • sign2: The villager's previous zodiac sign, if any.
  • note2: Space to place notes regarding a villager's previous zodiac sign.
  • phrase: The default phrase(s) the villager is set to. Do not include any player-customized phrases.
  • ja-phrase: The default Japanese phrase(s) the villager is set to.
  • ko-phrase: The default Korean phrase(s) the villager is set to.
  • zh-phrase: The default Simplified Chinese phrase(s) the villager is set to (iQue or NH onwards).
  • zht-phrase: The default Traditional Chinese phrase(s) the villager is set to (NH onwards).
  • fr-phrase: The default French phrase(s) the villager is set to.
  • frq-phrase: The default Québec French phrase(s) the villager is set to.
  • it-phrase: The default Italian phrase(s) the villager is set to.
  • es-phrase: The default Spanish phrase(s) the villager is set to.
  • esl-phrase: The default Latin American Spanish phrase(s) the villager is set to.
  • de-phrase: The default German phrase(s) the villager is set to.
  • nl-phrase: The default Dutch phrase(s) the villager is set to.
  • ru-phrase: The default Russian phrase(s) the villager is set to.
  • clothes: The default clothing worn by the villager.
  • quote: The villager's favorite saying, which appears on their picture.
  • favorite: If the villager is an islander, the favorite fruit. Remove this field for non-islanders.
  • allergic: If the villager is an islander, the fruit the villager is allergic to. Remove this field for non-islanders.

Deprecated parameters (do not use)

  • skill: The villager's skill.
  • goal: The villager's goal for the future.
  • style: The villager's preferred style.
  • appearances: The games in the main series the villager has appeared in.
  • other: Other media the villager has appeared in, such as the film, Sweet Day, Happy Home Designer, etc.
  • debut: Describes the first time the villager appears in any Animal Crossing media.
  • latest: Describes the most recent appearance of the villager in Animal Crossing media.
  • song: The villager's favorite song (plays in their house by default).
  • umbrella The villager's default umbrella.
  • japanese Former parameter for a villager's Japanese name.
  • j-name Former parameter for a villager's Japanese name, use ja-name instead.
  • k-name Former parameter for a villager's Korean name, use ko-name instead.
  • c-name Former parameter for a villager's Chinese name, use zh-name instead.
  • f-name Former parameter for a villager's French name, use fr-name instead.
  • i-name Former parameter for a villager's Italian name, use it-name instead.
  • s-name Former parameter for a villager's Spanish name, use es-name instead.

Notes

  • As of 8/10/15 any pages using the skill, goal, or style parameters will be tagged with Category:Pages with an outdated infobox villager template as these fields have been moved into Template:Villager Info.
  • As of 6/18/2018, any pages using the appearances or other parameters will also be tagged with the above category, as they have been replaced.
  • As of 8/28/2018, any pages using the debut and latest parameters will also be tagged with the above category, as they have been removed.
  • As of 9/5/2018, any pages using the song parameter will also be tagged with the above category, as it has been moved to Template:House.
  • As of 3/5/2019, the initial umbrella section has been removed, and any pages using the parameter will be tagged with the above category.
  • As of 2/10/2020, the japanese parameter has been replaced with j-name (and parameters for 8 other languages were added), any pages using the parameter will be tagged with Category:Pages with an outdated infobox villager template. The star sign will appear alongside a villager's birthday instead of on a separate line unless the villager just has a star sign. 9 additional parameters were added to allow for villager phrases in different languages.
  • As of 3/19/2020, three new phrase parameters were added: fq-phrase, ct-phrase and sla-phrase to allow for the display of Québec French, Traditional Chinese, and Latin American Spanish phrases respectively.
  • As of 5/19/2020, the language initials has been replaced following the ISO 639-1 standard.
