The Timer is a tool that appears in Animal Crossing: Wild World, Animal Crossing: City Folk, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It can be purchased in one of the Nook family stores. It can time 3, 5, 10, and 15 minutes.
The timer is most useful during online play. During online play in City Folk, however, if someone starts a timer, another person has the ability to stop it. Timers also track fish and bug counts, as when a timer is finished timing time, a thought bubble appears, revealing how many fish and bugs each player has caught. Animal Crossing: New Leaf counts deep sea creatures as well. Additionally, in City Folk, a timer will go off even when buried.
