My Nintendo is a loyalty program by Nintendo launched on March 17, 2016 in Japan and March 31, 2016 worldwide as a successor to Club Nintendo. It offers various rewards, such as wallpapers, printables, digital game guides, sweepstakes, discounts on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U software, and icon elements on Nintendo Switch in exchange for Gold Points and Platinum Points. Gold Points are earned by purchasing Nintendo eShop games or registering physical Nintendo Switch games, while Platinum Points are obtained by completing missions on various Nintendo websites, mobile apps, and since March 1, 2022, on Nintendo Switch. My Nintendo is also integrated with Nintendo's mobile games, including Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, where users can purchase in-game rewards with Platinum Points.
Since March 1, 2022, Nintendo Switch Online members can now use Platinum Points to earn icon elements. These icon elements are divided in three: character, frame, and background. An icon cannot be created without the character. Each month, a specific game is "featured' with their own icon elements, with a special Animal Crossing: New Horizons section that features villagers celebrating their birthday in the current month.
Purchasing a character icon element cost 10 Platinum Points, while a frame icon element and a background icon element cost 5 Platinum Points.
