Hardwood trees are an item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Hardwood trees will drop tree branches, Bells, or a wasp nest when shaken. If hit with an axe, hardwood trees produces either hardwood, wood, or softwood. The tree's leaves changes with the season, and during the first days of April, the tree leaves changes to that of cherry blossom petals. As a tree item, it can relocated after eating an edible item and using a shovel.

During certain seasonal events, hardwood trees will drop wood eggs, leaf eggs, and acorns. Additionally, mushrooms can be found near hardwood trees.

Hardwood trees can obtained by planting a sapling on a dirt or grass tile, or after shaking a money tree. hardwood trees are also spawned naturally on the first-tier of the player's island, and can also be found on Mystery Islands or on Kapp'n's boat tours.

In Happy Home Paradise, this item is unlocked for use in designing when doing the second villager's vacation house.
