The River Pool, sometimes known as the Lake, is the area in which the river widens. The river pool is not where the river splits in two, as that only happens in some towns, where as the river pool occurs in all towns. It is a water feature, along with the river, the ocean, the holding pond, and the waterfall. It is not to be confused with the holding pond, as that is the small patches of water that are separate from the river to ocean system. Before Animal Crossing: City Folk, the river pool was called a pond. Despite the small variety of fish that can be caught there, it is often one of the most fish filled places.
