The handlebar mustache can be obtained from the Able Sisters for 1,120 Bells. The item can also be obtained from the apparel shop in Happy Home Paradise for 1,000 Poki if the shop's theme is set to sell "showy clothes", or when the store is asked to sell any clothes under the "anything is fine" option.

In Happy Home Paradise, this item is unlocked for use in designing when doing a vacation home request for Elvis. In addition, the item can be used to change the clothing of the player either during or after the designing process for screenshot purposes.
