"Yeah, I'd be surprised too, aiya!" -Chow, Animal Crossing: City Folk

"This might sound weird, but do you think bugs and people can communicate?"
— Chow, Animal Crossing: Wild World

Template:Infobox villager Chow (チャウヤン, Chauyan) is a cranky, bear villager from the Animal Crossing series series. He has appeared in every game so far. Chow's name comes from the spelling variation of the Chinese surname, Zhou - the fact that it is a Chinese (sur)name, relates to the character being a Panda Bear.

Appearance

Chow is a pink Panda Bear with black arms, eyes, and legs, and also has a mole under his left eye. Chow is initialy seen wearing a Star shirt which you can buy at the Able Sisters' shop. He uses a ribbon umbrella when it rains.

Personality

Below is a brief description of the cranky personality. For more information, click here.

Chow is a cranky villager. Although he is a cranky villager, he can be very nice. He will constantly ask you for a fishing contest. Sometimes when you have a fish in your inventory an exclamation point will appear above his head and he will ask for the fish. Then he will give you something back. He has harassed many normal residents by saying "So I heard you were planning a big wedding ceremony." It is also noted that his smile can be very unnerving, reminiscent of a crazy or disturbed person. Chow also likes pink furniture, he will ask you to get him some. Chow might be mean at first, but maybe when he moves away you might want him to move back. If you have more than one of your own characters in your house, sometimes he takes a real dislike to one or two of them, although he may be nice to the others. When talking to a normal villager he might call them a "doodie head".

House

In Wild World, he has imperial furniture, a Squat Dingloid, and fish in his house. In Animal Crossing, Chow has a fish bowl and green furniture. Curiously, the lights are always off. He listens to K.K. Steppe.
