Storage units let the player save up to 90 spaces (in Wild World) and 160 spaces (in City Folk) of items that the player cannot fit or want showing in their house. If the player have more than one storage unit, the player cannot get additional storage; it will just contain the items currently in storage. The player can also access these storage units in the Auction House. In the original Animal Crossing, the player can have more than one storage unit, with each holding up to three items. The player can fit clothes, accessories, furniture, flowers, bells, blank letters, tools, fruit, and many other items in these for later. The only items the player cannot put in are bugs, fish, and turnips. The units are:
