Gruff (ビリー, Billy) is a cranky, goat villager in the Animal Crossing series. His name comes from the Norwegian fairytale, The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
Appearance
Gruff is a goat with green fur and brown hair shaped like a widow's peak. His eyes are blue and are almost always half closed. There are eyelashes drooping at the bottom of his eyes. He has white horns and a black nose. He also has a brown beard. He initially wears the Big Star Shirt. His tail is also brown. The inside of his ears are a pale pink.

Gruff has a cranky personality, meaning that he will appear rude and mean to the player at first. If the player befriends him he will be nicer to him/her, but he still will be slightly rude. He will admire lazy villagers' laid-back personality and will get along with snooty villagers due to their similarly rude personalities. He may find it hard to talk to peppy villagers due to their hyper personality.
