Toru Minegishi (峰岸透, Minegishi Tōru, born 1975) is a composer at Nintendo. He is most well known for his work on The Legend of Zelda and Splatoon series, among others.

Minegishi was responsible for composing the indoor music in Doubutsu no Mori, Doubutsu no Mori+, Animal Crossing, and Doubutsu no Mori e+ (including most of K.K. Slider's songs), most of which has reappeared in every mainline game in the Animal Crossing series. He stated that composing over 50 tracks from many different genres was a new experience and challenge for him as a composer.[1]

K.K. Slider songs[edit]

Minegishi composed and arranged most K.K. Slider songs as airchecks for Doubutsu no Mori,[1] which Kazumi Totaka then rearranged and expanded upon for the live performance versions.[2][3] Some of these tracks have also been credited to Minegishi elsewhere.

In Doubutsu no Mori+/Animal Crossing[edit]

The "Indoor BGM" for which Minegishi was credited for that was added in Doubutsu no Mori+ includes the following tracks:

In Doubutsu no Mori e+[edit]

  • "Tom Nook at Night"
K.K. Slider songs[edit]

In Nintendo DREAM Vol. 100 about Doubutsu no Mori e+, Kazumi Totaka further confirmed that the process of creating the K.K. Slider songs involved two people, with another composer (Minegishi) creating the instrumentals and himself arranging the live performances. They worked together to decide which genres to use.[3] Minegishi would therefore be responsible for the following tracks:
