Jacques (ジョッキー, Jokkī, Jockey) is a smug, bird villager in the Animal Crossing series. He is a new character, first appearing in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. His catch phrase, is French for darn it, as his name is French for the common male name Jack. His name in both English and Japanese comes from the word Disk Jockey, or DJ, for short. His picture phrase is a reference to his romantic personality and the sound birds make.
Appearance
Jacques is a black bird resembling a starling. He sports a green beanie, a short goatee and initially wears a red flannel shirt. Jacques may be based off of Jacques Cousteau, an oceanogropher who shares his name with Jacques and also wears a green beanie. He has black feathers, sometimes dark navy on sunny days. He has brown eyebrows, lazy, half full blue eyes. He has a yellow beak, and bright green stripes on his feathers and on striped legs.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the smug personality. For more information, click here.
Jacques is a smug villager, meaning he is well-mannered, polite, friendly and kind. He is quite flirtatious, and has a fair number of unseen hobbies that include collecting plastic bottle caps, and constantly talking about trains. He enjoys complimenting other villagers, including the player, and he is generous and quite easy to befriend. He is fairly easy to disappoint, when the player refuses to trade in items and if the player fails to complete a favor from him. He is very interested in fashion, and when shopping in GracieGrace or Able Sisters, he seems to be big fans of the two tailors.
House
His house seems very music-orientated, since he has many furniture used for music displayed in his home. He has a stereo that plays K.K. House, two sleek couches that are parallel to each other, a vibraphone, amp and two spotlights.
