The sewing box (さいほうばこ saihou bako?) is a furniture item in Doubutsu no Mori, Doubutsu no Mori+, Doubutsu no Mori e+, and Dòngwù Sēnlín. It is part of the Japanese Theme. The player can use this furniture to store items.
The sewing box can be obtained from Crazy Redd's Furniture Emporium for 1,400 Bells, Wisp, a treasure hunt, or trees when the player has good luck. It does not have any color for the purpose of fêng shui.
For villagers who have this item placed on the floor in their house, there is a chance that the villager will gift it to the player.
In Doubutsu no Mori, the three pins on the blue pincushion have switched locations.
Leftover dummy item
In Animal Crossing, the sewing box is still leftover in the game data as a dummy item, unobtainable without gameplay modification or glitches. It has the unused name "sewing box" and uses the dummy model, a white triangle with red Japanese text reading ダミー (damī, dummy). Its name was also translated to other languages in the European version of Animal Crossing, with the name "costurero" in Spanish, "boîte à couture" in French, "Nähkästchen" in German, and "set da cucito" in Italian.
