AC Fishy & Buggy Encyclopedia[edit]

Wouldn't it be just great if we had articles for every kind of fish and bug? Sort of like how Super Mario Wiki have articles for each kind of Cheep Cheep or Goomba? It could sort of be like a Serebii.net Pokedex entry, but with a little less info of course. The article could be like this:

Elephant Beetle

IMAGE The Elephant Beetle in ACWW

IMAGE at location The Elephant Beetle on a tree

Location: [PALM]

Time: [NIGHT]

Type: [BEETLE]

Season: [SUMMER]

Selling price: X000 Bells

Size: 115 mm

Games: [GCN] [NDS] [Wii]

Bug list (in-game): (ACWW) They are the heaviest beetles in the world. Their horns look like elephant trunks.

Or for fish:

Ocean Sunfish

IMAGE

SHADOW of fish same size as it

Location: [OCEAN]

Time: [DAY]

Season: [SUMMER]

Selling price: 4000 Bells

Size: 9 3/4 ft

Games: [GCN] [NDS] [Wii]

Bug list (in-game): (ACWW) A relative of the blowfish, they have caudal fins at birth, but as they grow, the fins vanish.

That would give us erm... 128 more pages. Well. It's an idea.

Hi. Yes this is a good idea. All it needs is the infobox (i can provide a template for that) and actual info on the fish. However, wouldn't we have 128 more stub articles? I like your idea though. :) Kirby2766 22:34, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

They wouldn't have to be stubs, if we included all information we had. We could include catching tips aswell. Dragonfree97 16:32, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

That seems like a good idea. :)

Thanks, who ever that |^| was. Dragonfree97 17:20, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

oops, forgot to sign, lol Kirby2766 06:03, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

String-fish[edit]

Hi, i'm not sure information about the string fish is the same in both Wild World and City Folk but maybe you can find the infos you want on All is Crossing (if it's not on this wiki, yet).

They have a copyright at bottom of their site but, i know there's no copyright over facts (from my experience in the wikis about GuildWars) so here are the facts (that are fully obtainable in game, in the hunting log) :

Stringfish
Price: 15,000 bells
Location: River (rare)
Available: December to February, Morning, evening, night

I hope it help. — TulipVorlax 16:01, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey ! It seems i just got one :
http://synaptique.ca/mesjeux/galerie_accf/full/city_folk_114.jpg
Sorry, my game is in french and i gave it to the museum. Next catch i'll be able to confirm by it's selling price. It was pretty big while in water. I never had a fish that big in a river except maybe the pike. It was near a bridge, not far from the ocean. That happened around 20:30 (8:30pm) — TulipVorlax 01:52, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

The stringfish is indeed a real fish. It's official name is not actually the stringfishl; maybe that's why you didn't know. The real name is hucho perryi, and it is a type of salmon. By-the-way, great idea for the encyclopedia! Bob Chao 20:20, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

New Template[edit]

Thanks so much for making that template. It's going to come very in handy. Stumpers 21:25, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Nookington's or Nookingtons?[edit]

I just saw your message, and I can create a redirect, but first I need to know how Nookingtons is correctly spelled. Kirby2766 03:35, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Bagworm[edit]

Hello, 'Dragonfree'! 'Dragon'? 'DF'? Do you have a preference? Oh well. I was just wondering if my Bagworm page conforms to your idea of a good bug page. At the moment, however, I think it may be the only bug page, so it's got no competition! Good work on the fish encyclopedia so far- needs padding out a bit, but I'd love to do that! I suppose it's going to be your special project from now till whenever? Dab 20:52, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

That's very good! However, I think it should have an infobox with info about the bug, and maybe the pic can contain the bug inside it's cage. (forgot to sign my name here......Kirby2766)

Oh, I'm no good with infoboxes... have you created a template? Dab 17:28, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Please, just call me D97 if it makes it easier. I'll make a template now. Shoud it go on the article or the talk page? Dragonfree97 18:08, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

You haven't specified which article! Dab 18:43, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

The article for the bagworm Dragonfree97 18:44, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Oh, right! Duh. Sorry- I was thinking you were making a general template for all bugs. Therefore, I think perhaps it should belong of the insect talk page. Dab 18:50, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

I mean like a template what says:

This article is part of the Fish section of the FishyBuggyPedia.

Edit#2 And then there could be a litlle picture of a cartoon fish like

 _/\
(_ |
  \/

Edit#4: HOW DO I GET THE STUPID CARTOON FISH TO WORK! Oh, try this.

Edit#3 Replace the fish for bugs if it is a bug article Dragonfree97 18:55, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

I don't think a symbol would be appropriate- this is an informative site! Sorry! But labelling each page under the FBP (Fishybuggypedia) is a good idea- it could be our seal of approval, if not at least on the talk page. Does the FBP page exist anywhere, by the way?

This page is approved by the Fishybuggypedia team- a commendation of its well-thought out and highly informative content

Oh, as an afterthought, perhaps I should manage the 'buggy' side of things, while you maintain the 'fishy' side of things. That would make things easier to manage.

}w{ (looks a bit like a spider, in a way) Dab 20:09, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Deal. I'll create the FBP page now. Dragonfree97 20:15, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

In regards to Dab's message, I have created a villager infobox. I also made the nookstore infobox. Kirby2766 05:33, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Regarding Bug medal[edit]

So sorry, it happened again! It's only block colours, though, so if you spend a bit of time on it, it should be fine. It's only really circles and rectangles, mainly. Sorry! Dab 20:22, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Forums[edit]

Do you want to help me moderate the Nookipedia Forums? If you want to join check for a link at Talk:Main Page, I could always use more help. Thanks :D Paper Crossing

Yes, I would like to. Thanks! Dragonfree97 19:18, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Fish Box[edit]

Would you please be able to make a green, insect version of the big fish box tempalte? That would be brilliant if you could. Dab 19:43, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Dunno about green...I just copied the 'Variations on the move Fire Blast' Bulbapedia temlate;s coding and shoved in lots of fish, in alphabetical order. Dragonfree97 19:44, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Oh, right! Erm, I'll just insert the colour in everywhere, and see if it works. Dab 19:54, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Made one! At {{Bugs}}, predictably. Looks like:

Dragonfree97 20:04, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks! Is there any way of adding categories to these boxes? I think it would be easier to include categories such as 'flying', 'on flowers', 'underground', etc. Dab 20:12, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Right, I've done something! Check the bug template to see! It's only a draft, however- I've still got to sort out the categories. Dab 20:29, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Fish infobox[edit]

Could check the Fishybuggy forum in relation to lines on the inforboxes? I've just removed the lines from the bug inforbox, for consisentcy & appearance reasons. Shall I help you to remove the lines from the fish pages? Dab 19:35, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes please! Dragonfree97 19:39, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Adding on that, if you come across a fish page without the template, would you add it? Dragonfree97 19:40, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Template[edit]

By the looks of it, we'll be expecting a 'Fishybuggy' template soon ( see the red link on Dragonfree's user page)! Dab

Would you like me to help make it? I just copy the other template's information and change the words! Dab 12:29, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Made it, just needs improvising. Dragonfree97 12:30, 13 April 2009 (UTC) Template:FBP

How about the one I've tried in the sandbox? It still needs an image, though.Dab 12:47, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Have you seen it? I hate the image I put in, though. Dab 20:00, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Userboxes[edit]

Nice Edittount userboxes! I like the bronze, silver, gold layout. However, Soon we'll need more larger numbers (I know people with 6,000 edits on other wikis.) I'd make right now, but I don't know what colouring to use... (There isn't a platinum colour rofl..) Btw, how do you like the Nookipedia:Userboxes page and its subpages? Do you like the layout and stuff?--Jimtalk! 18:24, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Yeah! I made a minor formatting edit earlier when I added the Edit count userboxes. The next colour should be a blacky colour at 2,500. I'll make it now. Oh, and edit the others. Dragonfree97 19:51, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Ooh, where can I see them? I think Fleurione's the top editor, with me a couple behind at 1,800 or something. Dab 19:55, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
See 'Featured Users' on the menu. Currently it's:
    1. 1st: Fleurione
    2. 2nd: Dabtowner
    3. 3rd: Dragonfree97 19:57, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Found them! Perhaps there should be some smaller numbers for junior editors to encourage them to edit- rainbow colours leading up to the big ones, maybe. I Like them a lot, though! Dab 20:00, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes, lets do that. At intervals of: 50, the Blue Status, 100, the Red Status; 150, the Green Status; 200, the Yellow Status; 250, the Pink Status; 300, the Purple Status and 400, Rainbow Status.
So the list will go:
  • White (10)
  • Black (25)
  • Blue (50)
  • Red (100)
  • Green (150)
  • Yellow (200)
  • Pink (250)
  • Purple (300)
  • Rainbow (400)
  • Bronze (500)
  • Silver (750)
  • Gold (1000)
  • Diamond (1500)
  • Platinum (2500) Dragonfree97 20:05, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Ooh, That means I'm on white! Perhaps white and black should be at the bottom though, like in karate. I think people would be more proud of a gold than a white! Perhaps you could make a platinum, though, a sort of bluey-silvery white. Dab 20:07, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

You wouldn't help make 'em, would you? Only it'll take quite a while. Changed the list, BTW, how does it look? Dragonfree97 20:14, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

They're super! I like the ideas for the colours- they're quite unconventional, in a good way! Perhaps a professionally done rainbow would be better, though. (Yours is a bit squiffy, sorry!) Dab 16:32, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

It's okay. I knew it was rubbish, I'm just not good at pixel art. Hence the 'Fishy medal' being so bad. Anyway, thanks! Has anyone got 'Platinum status' yet? Template:2500 Dragonfree97 16:44, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

I'll see if I can work out a table design, with each tiny little cell being a colour of the rainbow? That should work... (Otherwise, I'll just upload a pic of a rainbow (cartoony) onto photobucket, and use that as the id.) Also, currently trying to transfer the goal template from the runescape wiki. It should be quite simple, but because runescape is all numbers, it doesn't recognise the figures I'm putting in, and It has to be designed on Template:Goal, otherwise it won't work. Because of this, I ask you not to touch Template:Goal (when I make it), no matter how bad it looks, ok?--Jimtalk! 16:06, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Erm... Template:400 What's the goal template? *checks* Dragonfree97 16:42, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

something I tried vainly to make work yesterday ( not yet made the template for it), and am going to try as soon as I have time. ( I have to create the last 3 corner designs for my paths; create User:Zilenserz/blog and format teh design (It'll be good, trust me.) and create a thread on www.Wiipals.net for my animal crossing designs, as well as make a blog/designs on the wiki...--Jimtalk! 16:47, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Blog? Goal template? Numbers? Teh? Wiipals? Blog/designs? Runescape? YELLOW? What's all this about? See ya, Dragonfree97Or maybe talk to me later, or now? 21:49, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Regulated Userboxes[edit]

Can we make sure that all userboxes are the same size? Even if it means shrinking images and making fonts smaller, it think it would look a lot better, not to mention more uniform. I made all the ones I did by simply copying the information from previously-made ones, but I'm not sure how you'd do it with the simplified userbox template. Dab 12:28, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

I just made them with the userbox template. See ya, Dragonfree97Or maybe talk to me later, or now? 12:48, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Weather Page Verification[edit]

I added some info the weather page about fish, but it needs to be confirmed- are fish really encouraged to appear by the rain- It says that sort of stuff on signposts, so I assume it must be true. Dab 13:08, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Apart from the coelacanth, I don't think so. There's all the bugs affected by the rain, but only the Coelacanth in fish. I think the only modifiers are the time/date and the lighthouse. See ya, Dragonfree97Or maybe talk to me later, or now? 13:11, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
