Owls are a type of bird in the Animal Crossing series, with their first appearance in Animal Crossing for GameCube. Blathers, the museum's curator was the only owl in Animal Crossing, The museum wasn't featured in Doubutsu no Mori, hence, no owls were present in that game. but with the release of Animal Crossing: Wild World a new place, the Observatory; was introduced, and with it Celeste, Blathers' sister, was also introduced. The owls are only special characters, and only nocturnal. The bulletin board also has an owl, only showing at night replacing the yellow bird that only shows in the day—however, unlike the anthropomorphic Celeste and Blathers, it is a more realistic owl.
