Frogs are a species in the Animal Crossing series, appearing exclusively as villagers. Frogs have round eyes on the tops of large rounded heads, and most have wide mouths. Some frogs are seen to have nostrils—or even noses—but most do not.
There are twenty frog villagers so far; thirteen are male and seven are female, making frogs a predominantly male species. Of the frogs, five are jocks, four are normal, three are cranky, three are lazy, two are smug, one is peppy, one is snooty, and one is big sister. Huck, one of the smug frogs, had a lazy personality prior to Animal Crossing: New Leaf. In addition, two frogs, Emerald and Sunny, have not reappeared in any installments since Doubutsu no Mori e+.
- The frogs, alongside the mice and the squirrels, are the only species to retain their original body proportions in New Leaf.
- Frogs are one of the two species that appear as both villagers and as a donatable creature, the other being Octopuses.
- In Animal Crossing: New Leaf and New Horizons, frogs will not use umbrellas in the rain (since they are amphibious), and may mention how refreshing the weather is to them.
