Phil (ケイン, Kein) is a smug ostrich villager in the Animal Crossing series. He first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. His Japanese name comes from the word cane, a long skinny pole, in reference to his neck. His initial phrase may be a reference to a bird's call.

Appearance

Phil is a predominately purple ostrich with brown feathers on his wings and tail. He has a moccasin beak and legs. Phil's initial clothing, the dawn shirt, blends in so well with his color scheme that players may mistake the shirt to be the colors on his stomach. The red outline on his eyes form a mask, like Mira. Phil's overall appearance resembles a male pheasant's, due to his purple head and brown feathers.

Phil has the smug personality. He is gentleman-like, although he can appear conceited. Nevertheless, he gets along well with other villagers because he is kind and polite with them. Phil's special ability is beatboxing, and his ambition is becoming a baseball player. He will partake in the usual hobbies, and his unseen hobby is dancing. As of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Phil is the only ostrich to have the smug personality.

House

Phil's house looks very feminine. His high-end stereo plays Steep Hill, his favorite song. He has several pieces from the Minimalist series, such as the minimalist table, chair, vanity, minitable and dresser. His house uses the kitschy wallpaper and round carpet.
