For villagers who have the Chalk Board placed on the floor in their house, there is a chance that the villager will gift it to the player.
Version differences
In Doubutsu no Mori, Doubutsu no Mori+, and Doubutsu no Mori e+, the Chalk Board does not read "Social Study" and instead has Japanese writing on the right side, with pink, white, and teal chalk marks on the top and bottom. In the European version of Animal Crossing, the Chalk Board retains the chalk marks from the Japanese versions and reads "English Lesson" instead of "Social Study".
Notes

- ↑ As a standard item available from Tom Nook's store, this item is also available from the following sources: Redd; the dump; shaking trees; gifts from villagers, campers, and Mom; the player's birthday; Wisp; Chip; balloons (if the item's rarity group is rare); Sale Day (if the item's rarity group is rare); and the Lost & Found (if the item's rarity group is common)
