The money box is a customizable furniture item in Animal Crossing: New Leaf introduced in the Welcome amiibo update. It can be placed on the surface of tables and other similar furniture that have surfaces for items. If this item is placed on the ground however, it is penalized by the Happy Home Academy by 1 point per each item.

The money box can be obtained from the campground for  5 MEOW Coupons or from balloons. It can also be obtained from the RVs of Buzz, Gonzo, and Timmy and Tommy for  3 MEOW Coupons. The item's body color can be customized by Cyrus for  160 Bells.

This item appears as a furniture item in the homes of Gonzo. As a result, this item can be purchased by the player if they were invited by any of the preceding villagers. This item also appears in the RVs of Buzz, Gonzo, and Timmy and Tommy.
