Marshal (ジュン, Jun) is a smug squirrel villager in the Animal Crossing series. He first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Marshal's English name may come from a marshmallow, hence his appearance. His initial phrase, "sulky", bears no reference to his species, appearance or personality.

Appearance

Marshal is a white squirrel with pink cheeks and a pastel plum, a shade of purple, ear. His slanted eyes may make players mistake him for a cranky villager. He has cream-tipped hands and feet as well as having a cream swirl in his tail. When he first moves into the player's town, he will be seen wearing a denim jacket, a dark blue type of clothing.

Personality

Marshal is a villager that falls under the smug personality. He will not find it hard to converse with other villagers, as he is very polite and lively. When Isabelle talks about smug villagers, she may describe them as "kind-hearted gentlemen, even if they appear as showoffs". Also, if the player is female, he may be seen flirting with the player. He may sometimes appear conceited when talking to himself. His unseen hobby is dancing, and will also enjoy the usual hobbies. He will appear enthusiastic when going to the player's house.

Marshal's home contains a few sloppy items, such as the couch and dryer. The cowhide rug is his initial floor, and will usually change during his stay in the player's town. The album of Space K.K. is present in his house, and placed on top of his table. The same song will play on a stereo. Like all other villagers, his house will undergo changes. If he asks the player for clothing, furniture, a bug or a fish, he may replace one of the current furniture in his house or place it without replacing anything if there is still space for the new item. He will also ask the player if they think his "house is too messy", as sloppy furniture is not exactly popular with other smug villagers.
