Ricky is a cranky squirrel villager in the Animal Crossing series. He first appeared in Doubutsu no Mori, and after his appearance in Doubutsu no Mori e+, he remained absent from the series until Animal Crossing: New Leaf. His name may be derived from Rocky the Flying Squirrel, one of the main characters of The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends. This is further supported by his French name, which is literally "Rocky."

In New Horizons, Ricky has the education hobby and can be seen wearing rimmed glasses, reading a novel while outside, and using a magnifying glass when near certain objects.

Appearance

Ricky is a yellow squirrel with large, connected eyes, a unibrow, a red nose, and pink inside of his ears. He has a white and blue stripe on top of his head and on his tail. Ricky, Filbert, and Peanut are the only squirrels to have a stripe that ends at a triangular point on their forehead.

Ricky is a cranky villager and will appear grumpy and grouchy towards the player at first, and for quite a while afterwards, and may take a while to lighten up and grow more friendly to the player. Like other cranky villagers, even giving him medicine won't cheer him up and is very self-centered. He will admire lazy villagers due to their laid-back attitude. He will not admire peppy villagers.
